Tristan Thompson brags he's 'always late' as his baby mama 'demands child support'

Tristan Thompson told fans he's "always late" after his baby mama Maralee Nichols reportedly asked him to pay child support.

The NBA star, 31, admitted to fathering his son with the personal trainer in January - only after a DNA test proved conclusive.

With the paternity confirmed, Maralee, 31, is said to be asking Tristan for £35k a month amid reports Khloe Kardashian's ex had 'refused' to support the child financially.

However in his latest Instagram post, the basketball player didn't do anything to rubbish the rumours - and fans aren't happy.

Sharing a pic of him sporting patchwork jeans, Louis Vuitton sliders and shades, he wrote: "They say good things take time that's why I'm always late," with a devil, shushing face and wink emoji.

The cryptic post didn't go down well, with many of Tristan's followers slamming the athlete for his seemingly glib comment.

One said: "Late with that child support," and another added, "Oh, that's why the child support is late?!!"

Meanwhile a third fumed:"Always late to pay your baby mamas checks,"

Maralee has requested a "guideline monthly child support of $47,424" for her son, Theo, according to US Weekly.

She has reportedly also asked the court to order the NBA star to pay her legal fees, which has exceeded by $1million.

However the personal trainer's rep Harvey Englander told Page Six : "Despite news reports stating otherwise, Tristan Thompson has done nothing to support his son.

"He has not made any attempt to meet their son nor has he provided any financial assistance."

The Mirror has contacted reps for Tristan for comment.

Tristan is also dad to Khloe's daughter True, as well as five-year-old son Prince with his ex Jordan Craig.

The athlete apologised to the Good American founder after previously denying he had anything to do with Maralee's son.

Khloe recently opened up to Variety about the Kardashians' upcoming Hulu show and revealed it will touch on Tristan's infidelity.

She said: "It will be addressed on the show. We try as a family to protect the privacy of our partners or significant others since they didn't really sign up for this; we did.

"But if something is really public like this was, it would be strange if Tristan was a part of the show and then all of a sudden he disappears and we don't ever talk about it."

"So yes, we do address it. I always try to be as respectful as possible, but it is reality."

*The Kardashians will air on Disney+ in the UK on April 14
