TripAdvisor rates humble Edinburgh cafe as top restaurant in the city with 'delicious' dishes

An Edinburgh cafe has been listed as the number one restaurant on TripAdvisor.

Quinn’s cafe on West Port in the city centre is known for a good fry up, however their ratings have now seen them become the best in the city.

Serving up traditional cafe grub, the eatery offers the likes of rolls, paninis and wraps as well as cakes and sweet treats.

However, it is their breakfasts that seem to have seen the cafe skyrocket to the top of the ratings.

Given a full five star rating by the popular travel site, Quinn’s scored top marks across the board for for food, service and value.

Beating out fine dining restaurants and popular chains, 169 reviews for the cafe were rated ‘excellent’ out of a total 171.

Speaking last weekend, one customer said they had been given a “lovely breakfast” as well as “really friendly and great service.”

Another review said: “Mike was rushed off his feet but he was a great host and made us feel very welcome. Everything is cooked from fresh and it shows - we had a Scottish breakfast and and full breakfast, it was really tasty and well cooked.

"Mike explained all the items on the Scottish breakfast, which was helpful to my English husband. Would highly recommend.”

With many customers mentioning the great service and helpful advice for tourists, others said it was a “simple breakfast done well.”

One diner added: “Turned up at Quinn’s this morning having picked up the reviews off of Trip Advisor.

"We weren’t disappointed!

"Friendly and welcoming service, straightforward cooked breakfast which was delicious for four of us and a proper mug of coffee. Just what we wanted for a late breakfast and great to support a local business.”

Quinn's is open seven days a week from 8am-3pm.
