A trio of gyms pulled out all the stops to raise vital funds to support the Maggie's Lanarkshire cancer care centre.
New Age Fitness are local, independent fitness clubs built from the ground up to serve the community.
Founded in 2014 by local sports and fitness enthusiast Steven Morley, the gym has grown to three venues; in Coatbridge, Hamilton, and Wishaw.
Since April, each gym has taken on its own individual challenge, encouraging staff and members to work together towards completing circuits, spin challenges, and other activities in aid of Maggie's Lanarkshire.
At the Coatbridge gym, 33 members were put through their paces during a four-hour circuits class, with the event raising £3785 and everyone participating demonstrating real physical and mental strength.
Over at the Hamilton branch, a terrific triathlon was held, including a double round of circuits, double spin class, and 5k run, to collect a total of £1540.
And in Wishaw, a spinathon saw £1200 raised during an intensive two-hour session in the state-of-the-art spin studio.
Steven Morley, owner of New Age Fitness, told Lanarkshire Live : "The management team at New Age Fitness visited Maggie’s in Lanarkshire and have seen the work that goes on there.
“We wanted to raise as much money as possible to help the centre continue with their work.
“We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, and it’s good for people to know that places like Maggie’s exist and can support people in various ways.”
Val Smith, centre fundraising manager for Maggie’s Lanarkshire, said: "New Age Fitness staff and members have demonstrated their endurance and perseverance in completing the range of activities to raise funds for our centre.
“Steven and his team have arranged three very different challenges to suit members of their individual gyms and raised a phenomenal amount through their wonderful efforts.
“The amazing fundraising initiatives of Maggie’s supporters like New Age Fitness help us to continue to offer support to families affected by cancer across Lanarkshire.”
Built in the grounds of Monklands Hospital in Airdrie, Maggie’s Lanarkshire is a warm and welcoming place, with qualified professionals on hand to offer an evidence-based core programme of support that has been shown to improve physical and emotional wellbeing.
