Tributes to Swansea woman Angie White, 45, as man, 35, charged with murder

A man aged 35 has been charged with murder after the death of a 45-year-old woman in Swansea. The victim of the alleged murder in the Plasmarl area of the city has been named as Angie White.

Police were called to a property on Idris Terrace at 6am on Saturday, October 22 and later confirmed a woman had died at the scene. The property in question, and an adjoining property, were sealed-off by officers and a police cordon was in place throughout Saturday.

South Wales Police has now confirmed Daniel White, aged 35 from Plasmarl, has been charged with murder and released a short tribute and photograph issued by the victim's family.

In a statement released by South Wales Police, Ms White's family said: "As a family, we are deeply saddened by our loss. We appreciate your kind words and support. We ask for privacy as we grieve our loss."

The full new statement from South Wales Police reads: "The woman who died in a property on Idris Terrace, Plasmarl, yesterday morning (Saturday 22 October) has been named as Angie White, aged 45.

"Angie’s family, who continue to be updated and supported by specially trained officers, has paid tribute: ' As a family, we are deeply saddened by our loss. We appreciate your kind words and support. We ask for privacy as we grieve our loss.'

"Daniel White, aged 35 from Plasmarl, has been charged with murder. He has been remanded into custody. Emergency services were called to Idris Terrace at 6am yesterday."

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Matt Powell added : “My thoughts are with Angie’s family and friends who are understandably shocked and devastated by what has happened, and on behalf of all involved in this investigation, I send condolences to them.

“We are aware of the impact Angie’s death has had and I’d like to thank the local community for its support.

“Although a suspect has been charged and we are not looking for anybody else in connection with her death, our enquiries are ongoing and we continue to appeal for anyone with information which may assist us."
