Tributes have been paid to a missing Scots man after a body was found in the search for him on a shoreline in Fife.
Andrew Ward, who had been reported missing on May 30, was described as a "lovely man with a kind heart" by devastated pals after police discovered a body near St Andrews on Thursday.
Officers confirmed although formal identification was yet to take place, Andrew's family had been informed.
Heartbroken loved ones have now paid tribute to the 47-year-old on social media and said he would be greatly missed.
Emma Donnelly said: "Heaven gained another angel today. Thank you dear neighbour for being loving, caring, thoughtful and honest - the four things that make a humble neighbour.
"You will be missed. Rip Andrew, thank you to police Scotland for their efforts in finding Andrew and to the RNLI."
Paul Dunn wrote: "Rest Easy Andrew. Last thing you said to me was you will always remember me as a good bud. Well I will always remember you as a good bud to me mate."
Samantha Taylor added: "Sad news, thoughts with all involved. Lovely man with a kind heart."
And Alison Ferguson said: "I remember Andrew from my time in St Andrews at Boots. He was a happy, lovely, well mannered chap. Thinking of his family."
While Holly Mason wrote: "So sad to hear this. Known Andy for over 20 years. Such a kind soul. RIP buddy."
Adam Reid described Andrew as a "nice and quiet" man. He said: "Rip buddy. I used to always speak to him on the passing or on the bus. He was always a nice, quiet man. Thoughts are with family."
"Such sad news," Suzanne Dougal said. "He was such a nice guy. I went to college with him, can't believe this has happened. Rip bud, going to miss you."
And Christina Mowatt added: "This is such sad news, what a lovely guy he was, always friendly and spoke to people. RIP young man."
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Andrew's death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "The body of a man has been recovered from the shoreline near St Andrews. He is yet to be formally identified but the family of Andrew Ward, 47, who had been reported missing in the area has been informed.
"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
