Tributes to 'brilliant' Leeds dad tragically 'crushed to death by own car'

Tributes have been paid to a 'brilliant' Leeds dad who was reportedly crushed to death by his own car.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Acre Crescent, in Middleton, Leeds on Tuesday (May 2) night where a man was tragically found dead. Neighbours have said that the car enthusiast, named locally as Colin, was crushed by his vehicle. Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service and rapid response vehicles were also called to the scene on May 2, but sadly the man had already died.

Neighbours have now paid tribute to the 'brilliant car-enthusiast'. One neighbour, who lived opposite, said: "He was a brilliant guy who would do anything for anyone. He had lived here for years."

A family friend added: "I’m friends with his son so I don’t really want to say anything, but he was a lovely man and everyone in the street will tell you that he was."

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At 5.55pm on Tuesday, police were called to Acre Crescent, Middleton, where a man had been found dead. There were no suspicious circumstances and the Coroner’s Office has been informed."

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Services said: "We received an emergency call on Tuesday evening to attend an incident at a private address in the Middleton area of Leeds. An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were dispatched to the scene."
