Children leave flowers and teddies for dog attack victim Bella-Rae Birch
Children were seen leaving teddies, flowers and balloons outside the home of Bella-Rae Birch after she was killed in a dog attack.

The 17-month-old died after being mauled by a dog in her own home at around 3.30pm on Monday, March 22. The North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Police rushed to the scene on Bidston Avenue, in St Helens but the baby girl died from her injuries in hospital a short time later.
The dog was handed over to police at the address and has been humanely destroyed. The dog will be subject to further forensic examinations to determine its breed and whether it is, or isn’t a legal breed under the Dangerous Dogs Act (1991).
Police reported Bella-Rae's family had bought the dog just a week before the attack. Since the news of her death thousands of people have paid tribute to Bella-Rae online and dozens have left flowers, balloons and teddy bears at the scene.
A little boy in his school uniform was seen walking up to the cordon and handing a police officer a pink star balloon with 'Rest in peace Bella Rae' written on it, along with a small rabbit teddy bear with the pink nose.
Mysterious sea creature found washed up on Mersey beach
A dog walker was left perplexed after stumbling upon a mysterious sea creature washed up on a Merseyside beach.
The decomposing specimen was discovered by Crossens Pumping Station, in Banks, and has left a number of people wondering how it got there, as the body seemed further inland than the water could carry it. It was discovered by Ian Kettle and his miniature schnauzer Dylan.
The creature had partially decomposed and is believed to be around six foot long. With a photograph being snapped by Ian who on first impressions thought that it was a dolphin.
Speaking to the ECHO he said: "Dylan found something that he quite fancied and started to roll in it I was hoping that it wasn't something disgusting. Normally he comes back fairly quickly but his time I had to go down and get him".
Former ambulance seized after person used it to run red lights
An ex-ambulance was seized by Merseyside Police in a bizarre incident where a member of the public was using it to run red lights.
Merseyside Police officers in Knowsley were notified an ex-ambulance vehicle had been purchased by a member of the public. Officers later saw the person using the vehicle to force their way through traffic and red light junctions.
Writing on their Twitter account, officers from Knowsley said the driver had been reported and the vehicle had been seized. Commenting on the bizarre incident, they added "Leave it to the professionals".
