Tributes pour in for 'genuine and lovely' Partick Thistle fan after tragic sudden death coming home from match

Fans have flocked to social media to pay tribute to a Partick Thistle fan who suddenly died on his way home from the club's final game of the season on Friday.

Marc Becci, known as Sketch, made the trip to Starks Park, Kirkcaldy, to cheer on his beloved team as they drew 2-2 with Raith Rovers just hours before his death.

Thistle paid tribute to the fan by posting the tragic news on their website.

The Jags said: "All at Partick Thistle are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of supporter Marc Becci, better known as Sketch to his friends, who was travelling home after last night’s fixture against Raith Rovers.

"The thoughts of everyone at the Club and of all Thistle supporters are with Marc’s family and friends at this desperately sad time."

Tributes quickly poured in for the loyal Thistle supporter who was 'one of life's good guys'.

The club's Friday night opponents Raith Rovers said: ,"We are so sorry to hear about this. Our thoughts are with Marc’s friends and family, as well as everyone at Partick Thistle at this incredibly sad time."

Andrew Hicks wrote: "Lovely touch thank you Partick thistle. A more genuine lovely man you could not meet. RIP my friend you’ll be sadly missed."

Paul Johnston added: "Condolences to all friends and family, Sketch was a true gentleman and always made me and my friends welcome when we visited Glasgow."

Robert Carmichael said: "Thoughts go out to family and friends. Always had a smile for those in his company."
