Tributes have been pouring in for a much-loved retired fire fighter.
Vincent Hughes passed away peacefully on Monday night surrounded by his loving family. The retired Dublin Fire Brigade member was remembered by his former colleagues as an "absolute gentleman" who was "always smiling".
It is the second retired fire fighter to pass away in the last few days. Gerry Mulligan, who worked in the DFB HQ in Finglas, died on Saturday.

Mr Hughes served Dublin city and county for 41 years from 1965 to 2006. He retired as a District Officer on Phibsborough's A Watch.
A Facebook post paying tribute to the fire fighter read: "Some more sad news this morning, as Retired DO John Vincent Hughes (A watch phibsboro) passed away peacefully during the night... May he Rest In Peace."
One social media user said: "An absolute Gentleman, always enjoyed the banter and craic in the station, was a pleasure to work with and to know, Rest in Peace Vincent , My sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time."
Another wrote: "So sorry to hear this news, loved working with Vincent, always smiling. Condolences to the family."
A third said: "So sorry to hear of the passing of my first S/O Vincent. It was a pleasure working with you. Condolences to the family"
Mr Hughes' post on RIP.ie stated that he died "peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff of Care Choice Nursing Home, Malahide Road. Beloved husband of the late Kitty.
"Very dearly missed by his daughters Sharon, Brenda and Catherine, son Martin, sons-in-law Larry, Alan and Quintin, grandchildren Kate, Colm, Jack, Beth, Ethan, Charlie, Louis and Lily, sister Angela, brother Breen, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours."
The funeral mass will take place at 10am in St Anne's Church in Portmarnock on Wednesday followed by a burial in Fingal Cemetery.
Dublin Fire Brigade also paid tribute to Mr Hughes. They said: "It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of another retired member this week. District Officer (John) Vincent Hughes served the City & County from 1965 until 2006 retiring as District Officer on Phibsborough's A Watch."
