Tributes have been paid to a mother of three who was found dead at her home in North Berwick, East Lothian, on New Year’s Day.
Officers discovered Keotshepile Naso Isaacs, 33, at about 8.20am on Monday at a property in Craigleith Avenue after a “report of concern”.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death and inquiries are continuing.
Originally from Otse, a village in south-east Botswana, Isaacs is understood to have had three sons and been living in the UK since last year.
A neighbour in North Berwick, an affluent seaside town popular with holidaymakers and day trippers, told the Sun: “This kind of tragedy never happens in North Berwick – it’s shaken the whole town. The police arrived here on New Year’s morning and they haven’t been away since. She was a loving mum to her boys who must be absolutely devastated with that happened.”
Friends from Botswana paid tribute on social media after the death was reported in local media.
Bambi Motsomatshukudu wrote: “Let us let Naso Isaacs’s beautiful soul rest as we all find comfort in the Lord.”
Buciecieweh Boitshepho Thabangana added: “It is painful. May your beautiful soul rest home girl.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20am on Monday 1 January 2024, police were called to a property in Craigleith Avenue, North Berwick, following a report of concern. Emergency services attended and a 33-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and inquiries are continuing.”
