A statement released by Lisini Pub Company said: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our leader Lisa Wishart, who died peacefully this afternoon surrounded by her family.

"Lisa has shown incredible courage and strength over the last year, fighting to regain her health after a devastating illness, but that fight ended today and everyone in the Hood family and the wider Lisini family are heartbroken beyond words.

"All who knew Lisa would testify that she was truly exceptional, fiercely committed to her family and a brilliant business woman, who had taken on the mantle from her father to grow Lisini in what it has become today.

"Mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend. A truly remarkable lady taken from us all too soon."

As well as holding her own company, Lisa was a founding member of the Scottish Hospitality Group and former director of trade charity The Ben.

People took to social media to pay tribute to Lisa and her family after the announcement.

One said: "Really sad news. Lisa was a lovely lady and a fantastic boss. Such a huge loss, thinking of her family."

Another said: "Very sad news. Remember her well from school. Condolences to all." while another added: "So tragic and unfair. So sorry for your loss, she truly was a lovely lady."
