Tributes paid after death of well-known TikTok solicitor Richard Grogan

Well-know TikTok solicitor Richard Grogan has died.

The Dublin lawyer was known for his no-nonsense advice on Irish laws which made him a viral sensation. Richard was also known for his tireless work in helping the homeless.

Lawyers Against Homelessness said on Twitter: "Remembering our esteemed and most generous colleague Richard Grogan who gave selflessly of his time, talent and genius to the homeless. Rest in peace Richard."

Richard's advice helped many young people by offering employment advice during the Covid-19 pandemic on social media. He became popular for his catchphrase: "That's the law and that's a fact."

The Law Society said: "The Law Society is deeply saddened to learn of Council member Richard Grogan's passing. Richard was a tireless advocate, both in proceedings and in the public arena.

"We will miss his energy, humour, and deep commitment to the profession. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. Ar dheis de go raibh a h-anam dilis."

Stuart Gilhooly, a solicitor and Senior Counsel for League of Ireland players and injury victims, said on Twitter: "RIP Richard Grogan. He had been unwell for some months but wore his illness with bravery and stoicism.

"His work in making employment law accessible to the consumer and in the most simple terms will never be forgotten."

Richard worked in employment and personal injury law for many years until he launched his own firm, Richard Grogan & Associates Solicitors, in 2009.
