A young woman killed in the horrific six-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Coast this week is being remembered as a “gentle soul” and a “hard worker” as her mother breaks her silence on the devastating loss.
Jocelyn Grace Mollee, 22, was killed in a car crash on the Bruce Highway on Easter Monday, allegedly caused by a man driving a red Porsche who lost control and crashed into a Nissan Micra.
Mollee was a passenger in the Nissan Micra and later died of injuries suffered in the crash.
The Porsche driver also allegedly shot a 62-year-old man, who stopped to offer assistance to crash victims, before stealing his car and carjacking another car at gunpoint.
Speaking to The Courier-Mail, Mollee’s mother Amanda Chippendale has remembered her as a “gem” who was “going to be a pillar of society”.
“She was smart, she was kind, she had a wicked sense of humour, a sense of adventure. She wanted to live life to the fullest,” she told the publication.
“She could make people talk and she could make people laugh. She had a love of books and loved nature.”

Mollee was studying a bachelor of chemical engineering at the University of Queensland, Chippendale said, explaining her daughter had a passion for water quality and making sure people had access to sufficient and clean water.
As the family deals with the horrific loss this week, she explained her heart is “shattered”.
“My heart is shattered. We’re broken into a million pieces. Gone but not forgotten my baby girl,” she told the publication.
Chippendale said she hadn’t seen her daughter over the Easter long weekend because she spent it with her partner’s family, although they did speak on Easter Sunday morning.
“I spoke to her on Easter Sunday morning. A happy Easter call, catch up,” she said.
“Jocey and I catch up every day or so on the phone or texting.”
A spokesman for the University of Queensland said they were “deeply saddened by this tragic event”.
“Our thoughts are with Jocelyn’s family and friends at this difficult time”, they stated, per The Courier Mail.
According to the Australian Femicide Watch, Mollee is the 21st of 23 Australian women killed this year.
Bradley Donald Towle, who is accused of the carjackings, a fatal crash and the shooting, is currently facing 15 charges including unlawful wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, armed robbery, and possessing methamphetamine, GHB and cash suspected to be proceeds of crime.
He was originally due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday but he was still in hospital under police guard, as reported by the AAP.
The matter was adjourned for him to appear via videolink on Wednesday and while the charges were briefly mentioned, Towle was not required to appear despite him being taken from hospital and placed in an adjacent police watchhouse.
His solicitor Ben Rynderman did not apply for bail.
Magistrate Rodney Madsen remanded him in custody ahead of his case’s next court mention on June 30.

Speaking outside the court, Rynderman was not able to confirm whether Towle would seek bail at a later stage.
Court documents state Towle had declined to participate in a mental health assessment offered by a court liaison service.
Dramatic arrest footage from body cameras following the Bruce Highway carnage has been shared by Queensland police, per the AAP. Two officers with guns drawn can be seen in the footage approaching a vehicle on the busy intersection and screaming at a “bleeding” man to get out before handcuffing him.
Police allege officers found a single-barrel break-action shotgun in the Mazda that was used during the previous offences.
