Tributes have been paid to a "highly-regarded" farmer whose body was found just days after he went missing. Police had been searching for Dyfed Evans after he went missing from his local village last week.
It has been a second tragedy for the family, coming just weeks after the death of his mother Beryl who he worked with on the farm at Glanrafon, Ceredigion. Now, Dyfed's family has issued a heart-breaking tribute to the "loving son and brother" through Dyfed Powys Police.
They said: "There are no words that can convey the magnitude of our heartbreaking sadness at the loss of Dyfed. Dyfed Evans, of Glanrafon, Tal-y-bont, Ceredigion, was only 42 years old and a beloved and loving son and brother and we will gratefully treasure every memory of him and do so with a smile.
"Dyfed, like his mother Beryl, was a farmer and breeder by instinct and both highly regarded within the sheep and cattle world and particularly for their Welsh Mountain and Speckled Face Sheep. The farm at Glanrafon and the animals were the centre of their world. Their aim was always to produce stock of the highest quality and they could not have been more committed or more caring in their work."
His family added: "Dyfed also loved sports of all kinds and enthusiastically followed his favourite teams and individuals in various fields including football, athletics and snooker.
"We would like to thank everyone, family, neighbours, friends and various agencies for all the support and kindness during the last harrowing few days as we try our best to deal with the loss of a very special wife and mother and son and brother. We now wish to have time to grieve and the solace necessary to do so in peace."
