Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson beat out Browns defensive end Myles Garrett to claim the sack title for this season with 17.5. Hendrickson now has a chance to beat out Garrett and three others to earn his first Defensive Player of the Year award.
The NFL announced the five finalists for the award Thursday and Hendrickson made the cut. Along with he and Garrett, the finalists include Eagles linebacker Zack Baun, Steelers edge-rusher T.J. Watt and Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II. That makes three of the five finalists from the AFC North.

Hendrickson also led the league with 92 quarterback pressures, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. That was two more than Texans defensive end Danielle Hunter and eight more than Garrett.
Hendrickson will find out if he takes home the award on Thursday, February 6 at the NFL Honors during Super Bowl LIX weeks in New Orleans.
