Trey Hendrickson is challenging Myles Murphy during practice

Myles Murphy, the Cincinnati Bengals‘ first-round draft pick, has been getting comfortable with the Bengals playbook, adjusting from the Clemson playbook, according to Bengals.com reporter Geoff Hobson.

Murphy said Trey Hendrickson is making sure he is more than just comfortable and has been challenging him in practice to see who can get off the ball quickest, according to the rookie.

Hobson reported that when Murphy was told Hendrickson has the fourth most sacks this decade he said, “That makes sense,” since Hendrickson is always challenging everybody.

Murphy also said it’s much easier to learn the Bengals playbook than it was when he was with the Tigers.

“At Clemson, we played a 4-3, 3-4, over, under, Bear, three-man front, dime, a little bit of everything,” Murphy said. “It’s a little bit simpler here and I’m learning it a little faster than I did at Clemson and that’s been a big benefit.”
