The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed quarterback Trevor Lawrence on injured reserve. Will Lawrence play again this season?

The hits keep on coming for Lawrence, who suffered a brutal concussion in Week 13’s 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans.
Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair nailed Lawrence’s head with a forearm as the quarterback attempted to slide. Lawrence remained on the ground for several minutes before being carted off the field.
The hit led to a brawl between both teams, with Al-Shaair and Jacksonville’s Jarrian Jones ejected.
On Tuesday, the NFL suspended Al-Shaair for three games for the dangerous hit.
By heading to the IR, Lawrence will miss a minimum of four games. With only five games left, the Jaguars are 2-10, making it unlikely that Lawrence will play again in 2024.
With his season likely over, Lawrence finishes the injury-riddled season with 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions with a completion percentage of 60.6%.
Mac Jones, the former first-round pick for the New England Patriots, will likely start for the Jaguars the rest of the way, including Week 14’s road contest against the Tennessee Titans.

It may be in the best interest of the Jaguars to keep losing this season.
At 2-10, the Jaguars are tied with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants for the NFL’s worst record.
The Jaguars have the easiest schedule remaining between those three teams, giving them the inside track for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
