Trevor Lawrence reportedly clears concussion protocol for Week 16

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has never missed a game since getting drafted in 2021 and he’ll reportedly continue that streak in Week 16. On Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the third-year passer has cleared concussion protocol and will play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Lawrence, 24, self-reported symptoms minutes after a 23-7 loss in Week 15 to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. After sitting out practice on Wednesday and Thursday, the quarterback was back on the practice field on a limited basis Friday and was ruled questionable for Sunday.

Earlier this season, Lawrence suffered knee and ankle injuries that left his status in doubt until just hours before kickoff of games against the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Through 14 games this season, Lawrence has 3,525 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He’s added another 300 yards on the ground with four rushing touchdowns.

Tampa Bay has allowed the second most passing yards in the NFL, but is riding a three-game win streak that has vaulted the team into first place in the NFC South.
