There doesn’t seem to be much doubt about tight end Evan Engram’s status with the Jacksonville Jaguars. All parties are hopeful a deal can work out, and Engram appears to think an announcement could be coming at any time.
Among those who hope Engram returns is Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
A month after telling reporters that he’d speak to front office executives about keeping Engram, Lawrence went to Twitter on Thursday to continue to express his hope that the tight end will be with the Jaguars in 2023 and beyond.
This is my campaign 4 Evan tweet not any officially announcement lol 😂😂

Engram, 28, quickly became a favorite target for Lawrence during the 2022 season. The former New York Giants tight end caught 73 passes for 766 yards — both career-highs and franchise records — as well as another 12 passes for 124 yards in the playoffs.
While the Jaguars could realistically use the franchise tag to keep Engram for the 2023 season, that’s something that general manager Trent Baalke hopes to avoid.
Either way, Engram’s probably not going anywhere and Lawrence’s rapport with the tight end is certainly part of the reason.
