Trevor Lawrence explained how it was his fault that he didn’t leave the Jaguars game on an injury cart

Monday night could’ve been a lot worse for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Towards the end of Jacksonville’s defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals, Trevor Lawrence appeared to suffer a scary leg injury. Fortunately, Lawrence’s ailment turned out to just be a high-ankle sprain and nothing more serious.

However, in the immediate aftermath, Lawrence was seen walking off the field. That had the NFL world irate that the Jaguars didn’t get a cart for him. According to Lawrence’s account, the Jaguars didn’t procure a cart for their franchise player because he himself didn’t think he needed it. And the quarterback laughed about the decision once he realized how long of a walk it was off the field. (Someone still should’ve stepped in, though … right?)

What a classic Football Guy overestimating his own strength:

For what it’s worth, Lawrence also didn’t have a walking boot on his injured ankle:

This is honestly the best possible outcome for the Jaguars mere days after their 2023 season seemingly went up in flames. Lawrence seems relatively healthy and is already laughing and smiling about a wild evening in Jacksonville.

It could’ve been a lot worse, but the Jaguars remain in a good place.
