Trevor Lawrence, 2 other Jaguars sit out Tuesday practice

The Jacksonville Jaguars have withheld Trevor Lawrence from the first practice of every week since he suffered a toe sprain in Week 13 and that continued Tuesday ahead of the team’s Saturday showdown for the AFC South title.

In addition to Lawrence sitting out the practice, the Jaguars also kept offensive lineman Brandon Scherff and long snapper Ross Matiscik out of action Tuesday. Four more players were limited.

The first six players on the injury report were listed as questionable to play against the Houston Texans in Week 17. All of them were active in the 31-3 win. The only addition is Rayshawn Jenkins, who is listed as limited due to a shoulder injury.

For the Titans, only one player was held out of action Tuesday.

The biggest names on the list — defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons and running back Derrick Henry — both appear in line to play Saturday after sitting out a Week 17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
