Trevon Diggs Shares Uplifting Message After Injury: ‘I Will Be Back and Better’

In the aftermath of suffering a season-ending knee injury on Thursday, Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs shared an uplifting message addressing well-wishers and his long road to recovery.

An MRI following Thursday’s practice confirmed Diggs, 25, sustained a torn ACL after he was forced to leave the session on crutches. As reactions to the devastating news made the rounds online, Diggs shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) vowing to “be back and better” as he eyes a return in 2024.

“Thank you for all the prayers and I appreciate everyone for checking on me! This is just God’s Plan. I will be back and better!,” Diggs wrote.

As a key member of a surging Cowboys defense, losing Diggs will go down as a significant early-season development for a club with Super Bowl aspirations. Cowboys teammate and friend Micah Parsons was among those who weighed in on Diggs’s injury, sharing on X his pledge to keep the team going in his honor.

Thursday’s unfortunate diagnosis, which came a day after Diggs’s 25th birthday, abruptly halted a strong start to the former All-Pro’s season while drastically shaking up Dallas’s depth chart.

With Diggs out, the Cowboys are expected to move CB DaRon Bland to the outside opposite Stephon Gilmore, with Jourdan Lewis in the nickel role, per NFL Network’s Jane Slater.
