There is no doubting that the 2021-22 season has been a breakthrough one for Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah.
Last season saw the 22-year-old loaned out to FC Lorient for the year and the summer will have likely brought with it plenty of pondering of what his future in the game held.
But Thomas Tuchel has entrusted him with plenty of first-team opportunities and as we come to the end of January, he has already made 20 appearances in all competitions, including 14 in the Premier League.
Two goals have come his way in the top-flight too, securing himself as a firm fan favourite in the process and with the futures of Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta up in the air, he is likely to be an important player for years to come.
The Cobham academy graduate has been missing for the Blues' last two Premier League matches after picking up a hamstring injury against Liverpool.
On Friday, Tuchel delivered a positive update on his fitness but admitted that Sunday's clash with Spurs will come too soon for him.
"Trevoh Chalobah is back in team training but also way too early to play the game on Sunday at this kind of level," Tuchel told his pre-match press conference on Friday.
With just one win in their last seven matches, everyone connected with the club will be determined to pick up all three points at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
A defeat to Manchester City and 1-1 draw with Brighton over the past week has led to plenty of frustration among supporters, with 12 points now separating them from the league leaders.
Despite being unlikely to play on Sunday, Chalobah shared a two-word message with fans on Friday.
Writing on Twitter alongside a photograph of himself in training, he said: "Back Pushin."
