Trent Lehrkamp: Sister of hazing victim speaks out after rumours that 'hurt the family'

The sister of the teen left fighting for his life after a sick hazing ritual, has spoken out over ‘awful’ rumours their dad locked him out of the pantry to stop him eating.

Trenton ‘Trent’ Lehrkamp, 19, was taken to hospital unconscious on March 21, barely breathing, covered in spray paint and soaked in urine with his blood alcohol limit six times over the legal limit for driving.

He was rushed onto a ventilator and left fighting for his life after being allegedly force fed a dangerous amount of alcohol along with other substances including magic mushrooms.

On Friday county manager William Bill Fallon said police have served a search warrant at the frat house in St. Simons Island, Georgia, where investigators believe the hazing happened.

His sister has spoken out after an online publication published an article claiming an unnamed source said Trent Lehrkamp’s dad put a lock on the pantry to stop the teen from eating.

Taryn Lehrkamp said the claims weren’t true and told WSAV the rumour is “hurting our family even more than we already are.”

She added “this is just so awful and bad people are making it so much worse.”

She said Trent, “would be the first person to say how much our dad does for us and always has.”

Glynn County Police say they have identified at least 11 teens, from different social media posts showing the attacks on Lehrkamp.

Pictures and video were circulated online showing a group of boys standing around a seemingly unconscious Lehrkamp covered in paint.

Another video showed the unconscious boy being sprayed with a hose.

A post shared by the Glynn County Citizens on Patrol claims that the four teens "bound an unconscious and unresponsive boy to a chair, spray painted him from head to toe."

A GoFundMe page for Lehrkamp showed the teen in a hospital bed hooked up to a ventilator.

A friend of the teen told WSAZ that the 19-year-old had been hanging out with a group of high schoolers who "are not his friends."

The victim's father, Mark Lehrkamp, had told police his son had been to the same house a few days before and came home covered in "WD-40, vomit, paint, glue, egg yolk and spray paint," court documents said.

He told officers: "He never returns home normal."

The police report read: "Mark stated that Trenton seemed high or drunk and two weeks prior Mark had to take Trenton to the emergency room because he came home with a severe laceration above his left eye that required stitches."
