Trent Alexander-Arnold sends Mohamed Salah message after new Liverpool contract

Trent Alexander-Arnold expressed his delight at Mohamed Salah extending his contract at Liverpool and plans on winning 'a few more trophies' in the next few years. The right-back was enjoying his final days off at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday.

After months of speculation and contract negotiations, Liverpool announced on Friday afternoon that Salah had signed a three-year extension to become the highest-paid player in the club's history.

Alexander-Arnold and Salah have won every major honour together at Liverpool, but missing out on last season's Premier League and Champions League has fuelled the Reds' drive even further going into the new campaign.

Alexander-Arnold was asked at the British Grand Prix whether he was pleased to hear the news of Salah's new deal: "Of course, of course. Hopefully, a few more years with him to win more trophies."

The right-back revealed he is a huge fan of F1 and was delighted to be down on the grid for the first time: "First time and hopefully the first of many though. I absolutely love F1 and it's so exciting to be here. It doesn't really allow me with my schedule, but I'm really happy to be here today.

"The excitement I think is my favourite bit. The fact that it's both a team sport and an individual sport at the same time is exciting to me. It's an amazing sport, I grew up watching it with my dad and my family. Not as nice as these, these machines are something very special. A lot of hard work and a lot behind the scenes that I've seen today. A lot goes into it."
