Trent Alexander-Arnold anticipates another "amazing" encounter between Real Madrid and Manchester City as Liverpool wait to discover their opponents in the Champions League final.
The Reds survived a first-half scare to secure an emphatic 3-2 (5-2 aggregate) victory over Villarreal on Tuesday night and reach the Stade de France spectacle.
They will be joined in the final by one of Los Blancos or City, who lock horns at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, with the latter benefitting from a 4-3 advantage from the first leg.
Alexander-Arnold claims whoever emerges triumphant in the Spanish capital will "deserve" their spot in the final - and the right-back is "excited" to face either the defending Premier League champions or the newly-crowned La Liga winners. "It's nice to get the job done on a Tuesday," Alexander-Arnold told BT Sport .
"We can watch the game tomorrow knowing we'll be in the final and playing one of them (Real Madrid or Manchester City). I'm sure it'll be a good game. I think if it goes anything like last week we're in for another amazing game so, either opponent deserves to get to the final so it's exciting to see who we'll get."
While it was ultimately a comfortable margin of victory for Liverpool against Villarreal, it was anything but plain sailing in the first half as Villarreal scored twice to level the aggregate score. "We just needed to play how we wanted to play," Alexander-Arnold admitted.
"We didn't play football in that first half, never picked up any of the first or second balls at all, then they played how they wanted to and we allowed that. It was difficult, second half we played how we needed to, controlled the game a lot better and one bad half over the two legs, we can concede that as long as we got the job done and that's what we did today."

The England international continued: "It was difficult for us first half, we expected it but sometimes you can't control the game how you want to. They started well, scored early doors which we didn't want, but we got the game done and booked our ticket to Paris."
Alexander-Arnold also harked back to Liverpool's breathtaking comeback against Barcelona in the semi-finals in 2019, adding: "We never tend to make these Champions League semis easy for ourselves, no matter if we're home or away, Barca and now here.
"It's difficult, very difficult. Obviously we came here, they played very well in that first half, we regrouped at half time and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and done what we needed to do."
