Travis Scott club row 'blown out of proportion' amid claims he 'punched' sound engineer

Travis Scott's representatives have responded after he was accused of striking a sound engineer in the face at a recent New York City show in reports.

It was alleged thousands of dollars worth of damage also occurred in the incident.

The rapper, 30, was said to have got into a verbal disagreement at Nebula Bar in the city as he performed with fellow rapper Don Toliver, who has a weekly spot at the venue. It's alleged the altercation turned physical shortly after.

The alleged incident involving the Sicko Mode star is also said to have caused in the region of $12,000 (around £10,000) worth of damages to equipment such as a screen and a speaker.

It's alleged that the other party involved in the altercation was a 52-year-old man, who reportedly didn't have any visible injuries in the aftermath of the incident.

But, Travis' team have now denied the claims, with the nightclub's manager saying the incident was 'blown out of proportion'.

Ritchie Romero, managing partner of Club Nebula told the Mirror: "This is blown completely out of proportion. It was a great night."

While, Dorian Harrington, the talent booker who booked fellow rapper Don Toliver to host his after party at Club Nebula – who was on stage with Travis during his surprise DJ set – said: "This is a total misunderstanding, and what I saw on stage doesn’t reflect what I read in the news. The music and the night turned out great and everyone left peacefully."

And Travis' lawyer, Mitchell Schuster, said in a statement, "While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing."

Daily Mail reports police were called to the venue in Midtown early on Wednesday, but the musician was not arrested following the alleged incident. He is said to have left the nightclub and got into an unknown vehicle.

A spokesman for the NYPD told the publication: "There was also a verbal dispute at that location that ended in $12,000 worth of damage to equipment.

"At this time, no warrant is issued, and the suspect is not being sought. However, that may change."

Meanwhile, a source close to Travis Scott explained to the Mirror: "There have been discussions with the venue who confirmed this was a simple misunderstanding that was resolved in minutes. The show was great and never missed a beat.

"This has the earmarks of a cash grab but will be resolved and all those with an agenda will be held accountable

"Travis and team already working with law enforcement to resolve and get to the truth."

The Mirror has contacted the NYPD for comment.

The alleged altercation happened a month after the singer reportedly split from the mum of his two kids, Kylie Jenner.

The pair share five-year-old Stormi Webster and welcomed baby Aire to the world in 2022.

It's said they went their separate ways shortly before the first birthday of their youngest but "remain friends" and will continue to work together co-parent their two young children.

Kylie and Travis waited a long time to announce the youngster's name to the world after deciding their original name - Wolf Webster - didn't suit the tot.
