Travis Kelce's mother admits 'he likes attention' surrounding Taylor Swift romance

Travis Kelce's mother Donna has admitted that he's adjusted well to his new found fame from his high profile relationship with Taylor Swift because "he likes attention".

The NFL star, 34, has been propelled into the spotlight since he was first romantically linked to pop star Swift, 33, in October and now has become a household name.

However, unlike Swift's recent ex, actor Joe Alwyn who actively shunned the limelight during their five year relationship which ended earlier this year, Kelce has been seemingly lapping up his newfound fame.

"I think the attention is just part of the whole thing," Donna, 71, said in an interview on ABC. "Obviously [she] is a megastar, and I think Travis is embracing [the fame] as much as he can, so I think it's okay.

"He likes attention, so as long as he can handle it, I don't have any problems with it. She's a very nice person."

She added: "I'm sure everybody is tired of our family in some respects..."

Kelce, who is also regarded as one of the NFL's most attractive and eligible men, has been making the most of his new celebrity status by having reportedly filed five new trademarks last month, including his name and signature catchphrase, "Alright Nah".

The trademarks, according to trademark attorney Josh Gerben, will be used for a series of lucrative ventures that could be in the pipeline for Kelce, including cereal, posters, jewellery and clothing.

Kelce has opened up about how their love story first began.

In a wide-ranging interview with the Wall Street Journal magazine, the Kansas City Chiefs player discussed their first meeting and the media speculation which surrounds Swift.

Earlier this year, Kelce revealed on his podcast with his brother Jason that he had failed to meet Swift when he attended her Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri in July.

Recounting the aftermath, he told the magazine: “There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner (who said): Yo! Did you know he was coming?’ I had somebody playing Cupid.”

He added: “She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out.”

Kelce said by the time they met in New York they had already been talking so he knew they could have a “nice dinner” and felt “what goes from there will go from there”.

In the last few months, the Anti-Hero singer has been spotted in the stands supporting the Chiefs on a number of occasions, sparking media speculation around their relationship.

They also both made a surprise appearance during Saturday Night Live’s season premiere last month with Kelce featuring at the end of a skit which poked fun at their romance.
