With the NFL combine underway, Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce decided to post a fun little throwback to their pre-draft days.
In an episode of New Heights released last March, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end reflected on one particularly poor interview he had with the Dallas Cowboys at the 2013 NFL combine.
Travis Kelce bluntly discussed his perceived red flags with the Cowboys’ interviewers, which included the fact that he was suspended for a year at Cincinnati for failing a drug test.
The three-time Super Bowl champion confessed what he told Dallas in the interview: “‘If you guys think I’m gonna be that kind of guy or you’re questioning if I’m still that person after everything that I’ve battled through to get to where I am now from missing a season, then you guys should probably go somewhere else and pick somebody else.’ And that’s exactly what they did.”

The Cowboys took Kelce’s advice and ended up selecting San Diego State tight end Gavin Escobar in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft. The Chiefs would draft Kelce with pick No. 63 in the third round.
The image of Kelce wearing a Cowboys jersey is something Chiefs fans would rather not imagine, so Kansas City may feel at least a tad grateful that his interview went as badly as it did all those years ago.
