Travis Kelce named greatest tight end ever after dominant four-touchdown performance

Fox Sports analyst and TV host Skip Bayless has dubbed Travis Kelce as the greatest tight end ever after another dominant performance in a win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Kelce's Chiefs were down 17-0 to the Raiders before Kelce would score all four of their touchdowns to come back and win the game. It was another fantastic showing on what has been a tremendous start to the season for Kelce, in what many expected could have been a difficult year for him.

This past off-season, the Chiefs lost their most explosive receiver in Tyreek Hill, who signed a record deal with the Miami Dolphins after being traded from Kansas City for a first and second round draft pick.

And with Hill gone, Kelce became the unquestioned number one target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, with NFL defences expected to key in on stopping Kelce. Whilst that has been the case, the 33-year-old has still been able to put up extremely impressive numbers - as he currently leads the league in touchdowns scored and has the seventh most catches (33).

Kelce has been playing at this level for eight years now, putting up 1,000 yard seasons in the last six NFL campaigns - an NFL record - and also registering the most yards in a year by a tight end in NFL history. His dominance has seen him compared to former greats at the position, and Bayless now states he has surpassed them all.

During the game, Bayless tweeted: "Travis Kelce has become the greatest route-running, pass-catching tight end ever - yes, beyond even Gronk. Mahomes is a lucky young man."

And today on his UNDISPUTED TV show, Bayless said: "When I flashback to Gronk, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Shannon Sharpe, this guy is moving at some speed I've never seen at this position.

"This man is something. He is shifty and slithery, for 250lbs he is some serious wiggle. I never see him get hit seriously hard because he knows how to protect himself. Kelce moves at a speed that guys like Tony (Gonzalez) never moved at."

Sharpe himself added: "He's phenomenal. To do game in and game out when everyone knows that he is going to get the ball - and he still finds himself open every game. He is phenomenal."
