Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce believes that former teammate Tyreek Hill is the best wide receiver in the NFL.
After facing off against Hill and the Dolphins last Sunday for the first time since the wide receiver was traded to Miami, Kelce had nothing but respect for his ex-teammate.
“Seeing him live, he’s gotta be the best ticket in the NFL,” Kelce said to his brother Jason on their New Heights podcast. “Seeing that dude live is the most exciting thing you can see in the NFL. It’s unbelievable. You put him with Waddle and all the other speedsters that they have and that’s a damn good and exciting offense to play in, I’m sure.”
As far as who the best wide receiver in the NFL is right now, there’s no question in Kelce’s mind that it’s Hill.
“I don’t think he ever got the credit he deserved for being the best receiver in the league when he was here,” Kelce added. “I think him going to Miami and doing essentially the same thing he was doing here and taking it up a notch. He’s finally being regarded as the best receiver in the league and I think that was something he always knew in his heart he was, and we were always telling people, but it’s just good to see now.”
Hill is on pace to break the NFL single-season record for receiving yards of 1,964 held by Calvin Johnson since 2012. Through nine games, Hill has caught 69 passes for 1,076 yards and eight touchdowns.
If Hill breaks the record by season’s end, nobody will be happier for him than his former teammate in Kelce.
