The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8 to keep their perfect season intact, and star tight end Travis Kelce was a huge part of the defending Super Bowl champions’ winning effort.
Kelce, who got off to a surprisingly slow start in the 2024 regular season, caught 10 passes for 90 yards in the game and managed to score his first touchdown of the season to help lift Kansas City to victory.
His long-awaited score did more than keep the Chiefs in the lead; it also counted as the 75th touchdown of Kelce’s career, putting him just one shy of legendary tight end Tony Gonzalez for the most in franchise history.
That marks TE Travis Kelce’s 75th career TD reception, sitting 2nd in franchise history and just one shy of tying Tony Gonzalez (76) for most in club history. His 75 career TD receptions rank as the 5th-most in NFL history by a TE.

Though the 27-20 final score was far from a blowout for the Chiefs against their bitter AFC West rivals, Kelce’s outstanding performance should be more than enough to get fans in Kansas City excited about the reigning champions’ Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
