Travis Kelce wasn’t able to attend Taylor Swift’s 34th birthday party in New York City on Wednesday for a very, very understandable reason.
According to Entertainment Tonight (and anyone who knows how the NFL works), Kelce had to stay back in Kansas City to practice with the Chiefs ahead of the team’s away game against the New England Patriots this weekend.
It’s incredibly rare for an NFL player to miss practice for a non-essential reason, and attending a birthday party in a different city would definitely not qualify as a good excuse to miss an in-season practice session.
Swift’s birthday party was apparently quite the big shindig, but the Chiefs would never actually let Kelce miss a practice for something like that.
Even if the rich and the famous can usually do a lot of unique things, getting out of an NFL practice to attend a party is absolutely not one of them.
When you’ve got to work, you’ve got to work!
