Travellers pitch up at Victoria Embankment in Nottingham

A number of caravans have been seen pitched up on Victoria Embankment in The Meadows. According to a passer-by, more than 20 caravans could be seen on the site near the River Trent.

They were first spotted on Sunday (May 15) morning. Photographs show caravans on the public field area. It is currently unknown how long they will stay there for.

It comes after at least eight caravans pitched up on Stockhill Park in Basford a few weeks ago.

Photographs from then showed at least eight other vehicles alongside the mobile homes, which were parked in the middle of the field. That park is owned by Nottingham City Council, who issued them a notice to leave, threatening eviction with bailiffs if this was not done.
