Travel Scotland: Glasgow Airport to increase TUI flights to tourist hot spots

Glasgow Airport has announced that TUI UK will be expanding their holiday programme for summer 2022 and flying to more destinations.

The good news comes as tourist hot spots such as Dubai and France relaxed their travel rules allowing people to enter for holidays rather than just 'essential' reasons.

Due to popular customer demand, TUI will increase its frequency of flights to over nine destinations by as much as three flights or more per destination.

Flights to customer favourites Antalya and Dalaman in Turkey will operate four times a week whilst flights to Mallorca will also run four times a week.

For customers looking to travel long haul, there will be two options available from Glasgow Airport to either Cancun or Melbourne Orlando International - the new Florida gateway for TUI customers.

Flights to Cancun will operate three times a week, increasing to four during peak summer holidays and flights to Florida will only operate once weekly and once fortnightly, increasing to three flights a week during peak summer holidays.

To offer customers even more flexibility this year, TUI have confirmed that they will increase flights to several destinations to offer 10 and 11 night holidays for customers travelling from Glasgow Airport meaning the number of flights to Malaga, Corfu, Paphos and Rhodes will be increased to twice a week for summer 2022.

Richard Sofer, Commercial & Business Development Director at TUI said: "As the airline with the largest regional airport network in the UK, we’re committed to offering our customers as much availability as possible to our great range of holidays. We’re delighted to expand our summer 2022 programme from Glasgow with increased flying to several destinations, providing even more flight options for our customers."

Matt Hazelwood, Chief Commercial Officer at AGS Airports added: "As international travel restrictions continue to be relaxed, we know that there is huge pent-up demand from our passengers who want and need to travel again. TUI’s decision to significantly increase capacity on some of our most popular destinations in Turkey and Spain is very welcome news indeed.

"We are particularly pleased to see the return of services to Cancun and Orlando, which have historically been extremely popular with our customers."
