Travel journalist Simon Calder issued a warning that roads will be congested alongside the upcoming rail strikes.
Simon was back on This Morning to advise viewers on how to handle the upcoming rail strikes across the country along with issuing an update on the latest disruptions. He asked viewers to not be upset with the strikers and to remember they are fighting against redundancies and better working conditions.
"They haven't had a pay rise for three years and they simply want to make sure they won't face compulsory redundancies but of course stuck in the middle of this is the passenger," he said. "I'm afraid if you are one of those people who have a trip to see loved ones, exams or medical appointments, you are going to be struggling."

Simon added other routes will also be congested as travellers will be resorting to other options including busses to get to where they need to be. He said: "The roads are absolutely going to be at a gridlock as people move from rail to road."
This Morning's Holly Willoughby asked if people can claim back money for the disruptions to which Simon confirmed but only in certain cases. "If you've got an advanced ticket then you've generally got loads of options," he said.
"You can use your ticket pretty much any day this week, you can get a full refund if the trains not working or if it is running and you don't want to catch that one you can get a voucher. The people who have [tickets booked will be okay] but it's people who desperately need to get somewhere is where my heart goes out to."
The Rail and Maritime Workers Union (RMT) is striking against plans by Network Rail that would see the loss of 2,500 jobs as part of its £2bn reduction in spending. The national walkouts will take place Tuesday, June 21, Thursday, June 23, and Saturday, June 25.
