Travel disruption warning as three Lanarkshire roads to close for five days over next two months

A disruptive period awaits Monklands motorists as three roads will be shut for five days over the next couple of months.

Park Street in Whinhall, Airdrie, will close from August 22-26 for the completion of carriageway resurfacing works.

The closure will be between the A8010 Aitchison Street and Park Crescent, with both those roads and Wilson Street and Mavisbank Street available as diversions.

Also shutting on August 22-26 is Blackbog Road in Airdrie, from the A73 northbound off-slip to Cullochrigg Road.

This is for a drainage installation and alternative routes for motorists will include Millcroft Road, the B802 Condorrat Road, Gain and Shankburn Road and Summerhill and Garngibbock Road.

Finally, Coatbridge’s Woodside Street will be shut from September 5-9 to allow for street lighting improvements.

The road will close between Allan Street and the A89 Bank Street.

The latter road and the B753 Dundyvan Road, the A725 Whifflet Street, School Street and Old Monkland Road will be acting as diversions for drivers during the closure.
