Drivers are being urged to avoid a busy motorway during rush hour due to a police incident.
The M8 is closed westbound in North Lanarkshire from junction six for Newhouse and Airdrie to junction seven for Eurocentral and the A8.
The incident has also caused a lane closure in the Eastbound carriageway in the same area.
Traffic Scotland have warned of "heavy traffic" in the area and are asking drivers to avoid the route.
In a statement on social media, they said: "Junction 7 (Eurocentral), closed Westbound from Junction 6 due to a Police incident at Junction 7.
"Lane 3 (of 3) is closed on the Eastbound carriageway also.
"Traffic is very heavy in the area. Please avoid, if possible."
