Christian Pulisic has been praised by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford ahead of their two nations meeting in the World Cup group stages on Friday. Pickford's England and Pulisic's USA are set to face off in matchday two with Iran and Wales, the other two teams in the group, playing earlier in the day.
England kicked off their World Cup campaign with a 6-2 win over Iran, while the USA were held to a 1-1 draw with Wales. Pickford was rarely troubled in the the Three Lions goal, with the Everton shot-stopper given no chance for either of Mehdi Taremi's goals.
Pulisic on the other hand was heavily involved for the USA, with his incisive runs causing Wales significant problems with one of those darts specifically leading directly to Timothy Weah's first half goal.

On Friday, Pulisic and Pickford will be opponents, but they could be team-mates in the coming months if all the stars align perfectly. Chelsea's two current goalkeepers in Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga have both had their struggles in west London.
Neither have really been able to nail down the No. 1 spot since the arrival of Graham Potter and the 47-year-old may be looking elsewhere for another keeper to firmly become his starting shot-stopper.
Chelsea will be keeping a close eye on the performances of Pickford at the World Cup and speaking ahead of what will likely be his 47th international appearance against the USA, the 28-year-old highlighted Pulisic as a 'top player'.
Pickford said: “I think he is a top player and I’ve played against him for a few years at Chelsea. He is good with both feet and very clinical. But we’ve got to be wary of him."
The future of Pulisic is also up in the air, with the World Cup providing a great opportunity for the former Borussia Dortmund attacker to prove his worth and prompt clubs to look at acquiring his services with a departure from the Blues, likely the best outcome for both parties.
However, it may work the opposite way with Pulisic proving his worth to Potter and co in Qatar and he could potentially be a team-mate of Pickford if Chelsea follow through on looking to acquire another goalkeeper.
