Transfer roundup: Today's top transfer stories

Another day, another slew of transfers. In fairness, today has actually seen a number of transfer sagas move towards reaching some kind of conclusion.

Spurs have continued their heavy spending at near unprecedented levels, Chelsea are trying to spend big on yet another attacker, while Manchester United tantalise fans with tales of transfers edging closer to the finishing line.

With all that being said, read on below for the top transfer stories of the day.

Richarlison to Spurs

Spurs have agreed a £60 million fee with Everton for the services of Brazilian forward Richarlison. The transfer would make Richarlison the second most expensive signing in the club's history, just three million shy of the £63 million paid to Lyon for Tanguy Ndombele in 2019.

It is understood that Everton didn't want to depart with Richarlison, given his popularity with fans and his performances on the pitch. However, the Toffee's are close to breaking the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules, and need to clear his wages before the end of their financial year on Friday.

Raphinha to Chelsea

In more Brazilian transfer news, Raphinia looks set to leave Leeds and sign for Chelsea. It was revealed earlier today that Chelsea and Leeds had agreed a £60 million fee for the winger.

But the deal is not yet complete and Raphinia remains a wanted man. With Barcelona and Arsenal also extremely interested in the player, it seems very unlikely that Raphinia remains at Elland Road next season.

Paul Pogba to Juventus

Ever since it was announced that Paul Pogba was leaving Manchester United, all thoughts turned towards who he'll play for next season. All signs indicate that a return to Juventus is the most likely outcome, however, the deal has yet to be announced.

In fact, it has been reported today by Sky Sports that the two parties have yet to agree on a deal. While the final touches on an agreement are being made, Pogba still hasn't signed on the dotted line. Hopefully Juve don't anger Pogba by giving him a nothing offer of only £290,000 per week.

Tyrell Malacia and Frenkie De Jong to Manchester United

In all honesty, we could do an entire article based on the players that Manchester United have been linked to. In the past 24 hours, United appear to have struck a deal with Feyenoord in the region of £13 million for the Dutch left back Tyrell Malacia.

And of course, the Frenkie De Jong saga rumbles on. Fabrizio Romano has reported that United and Barcelona are very close to agreeing a deal worth up to €85 million, with €65 million to be paid up front and €20 million in add-ons. Further reports suggest that United want to complete the deal before the end of the weekend.
