Trains to Stansted Airport disrupted by signal failure

Trains running to and from Liverpool Street were among those majorly disrupted on Thursday afternoon due to a signal failure at Tottenham Hale.

Trains running through Tottenham Hale were being cancelled and delayed, Greater Anglia warned on its website, with the issue expected to last until around 5pm.

Services affected include trains running from London Liverpool Street, to Cambridge and Stansted Aiport.

Cristina Torrente, who was heading to Stansted Airport from Liverpool Street said: What’s happening with the 13:25 train for Liv street to Stansted airport?

“We are not moving and we have no updates!”

As of 2.42pm, Network Rail said all lines had now reopened following the signal failure but warned there will be further cancellations, delays or revised timetables.

Due to the dsruption, Greater Anglia rail said tickets can now be used for Great Northern services between Kings Cross and Cambridge and between Moorgate and Hertford North.
