A man abused two pensioners onboard a Merseyrail train, punching one in the eye.
British Transport Police said the incident took place onboard a train between Liverpool Central and James Street stations. Officers said just before 3pm on April 19, a 71-year-old woman was sat in an unoccupied seat when a man approached her and subjected her to a "torrent of abuse."
As he continued to shout in her face the second victim, an 81-year-old man, stepped in and told him to leave the woman alone. The man responded by shouting “she was in my [expletive] seat” and punched the man in the eye.
