Rail services are set to return to normal next Wednesday after an agreement was reached following a pay row with drivers.
ScotRail services have been running on a reduced timetable since May after drivers began rejecting overtime and rest day work due to a pay dispute with drivers' union ASLEF, however this week an agreement has been reached.
The union wanted drivers' salaries to go up, reflecting current inflation.
ASLEF and Scotrail have now reportedly agreed on a 5 per cent increase for all drivers, meaning a a full timetable will resume on Wednesday, July 20.
Trains have been terminated much earlier than usual for the last two months. Around 700 services were cut and many routes ended earlier than usual.
Those attending concerts and events, as well as commuters have been significantly impacted by the reductions.
David Simpson, ScotRail Service Delivery Director, said: “We are delighted to be able to reintroduce the timetable, adding almost 700 services each day, and delivering the service that our customers expect and deserve.
“It has been a very challenging few months, impacting those across the country who rely on rail travel and on our staff too.
“It is a big step forward to reach such a positive resolution and continue in our efforts to provide the safest, greenest, and most reliable railway we can.
"We thank customers for their patience through this period.”
