Train services between Edinburgh and Glasgow facing significant delays

PASSENGERS hoping to travel between Edinburgh and Glasgow are facing severe delays due to a fault on the line.

A fault with the signalling system between Linlithgow and Polmont is disrupting services running between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

ScotRail has warned that trains may be delayed or cancelled, with disruption expected until the end of Wednesday.

Passengers travelling between Edinburgh and Dunblane or Inverness are also experiencing delays.

Services will run at :15 and :45 every hour between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh.

Passengers have been advised they can use their ticket on the following services, at no extra cost:

  • Alternative ScotRail services via any reasonable route
  • Citylink 900 Glasgow - Haymarket - Edinburgh, in both directions
  • Edinburgh Trams between Edinburgh and Edinburgh Gateway

Rail replacement buses will operate as follows:

  • 1x Falkirk High which will shuttle to Falkirk Grahamston- on site at Falkirk High 16:50
  • 1x Falkirk Grahamston which will shuttle to Falkirk High- ETA 17:00
  • 1x Dunblane which will shuttle to Falkirk Grahamston- ETA 17:00
  • 1x Falkirk Grahamston which will shuttle to Dunblane- ETA TBC

The following buses have been requested to operate but have not been confirmed:

  • 2x Buses Dunblane all stops to Edinburgh Gateway where passengers can board Edinburgh Trams
  • 2x Buses at Edinburgh Gateway all stops to Dunblane
