'Train passenger aggressively pushed me to claim last seat - so I got ultimate revenge'

With the urgency to claim the last seat on a train for your long commute home, rush hour can often bring out a darkness in people that they never knew existed.

One man was taken aback after a forceful and selfish passenger "aggressively" pushed past him to call dibs on the last remaining seat onboard the busy mode of transport.

However, the commuter wasn't prepared to give up the seat without a fight but thought that revenge was best served cold.

Taking to popular forum site Reddit, the anonymous user admitted to getting the ultimate revenge on the passenger and book lover by spoiling their current read.

They explained: "Aggressively push me to get on the train for the remaining seat? I sure hope you enjoy your book.

"This was a couple of months ago. I was waiting at the station when the train pulled up. Not a busy platform and not a busy train, but the woman behind me aggressively pushed past me to get on first (even ahead of people getting off the train) and almost knocked me over.

"Fine, whatever, you want a seat. And she did get a seat, to then pulled out a book that she was visibly only a few chapters in.

"The coincidence is that I finished that exact same book a few weeks before, and there's a massive, massive twist three-quarters into the book. Just as I get off the train, I walk past her and say 'the wife is faking it the entire time' and walk off. Felt pretty good."

Since sharing his thread online, the man's post has raked in over 250 comments to date - where people rushed to praise the Reddit user for his "amazing" revenge.

One person wrote: "Brilliant! Let's just hope she heard it and it's all she could think about. Hate people that push past people trying to get off and on."

The original Reddit poster added: "I could see confusion in her face so the penny will drop the further into the book I reckon."

"I'm glad you ruined it for her!" A second added.

A third penned: "Hahaha this is amazing."

A fourth wrote: "Perfect revenge for someone who doesn't let other people off first."
