Train delays of up to 40 minutes: urgent signal repairs

THERE are significant delays on the Central Coast and Newcastle train line on Monday morning.

Commuters have been advised of up to 40 minute delays to some services to and from Newcastle Interchange due to urgent signal repairs at Cardiff.

Train services commencing from Gosford and Wyong are not expected to be delayed.

Commuters have been asked to allow plenty of extra travel time, check transport apps, information screens and listen to announcements for service updates.

Buses are also replacing some trains between Hornsby and Gosford.

Monday December 5 to Thursday December 8:

  • Nightly from 9.20pm until 2.30am, buses replace trains from Hornsby to Gosford.
  • Nightly from 10.10pm until 1am, buses replace trains from Gosford to Hornsby.
  • Trains run between Newcastle Interchange and Gosford, and between Hornsby and Central, some to a changed timetable.
  • Replacement buses may be impacted by COVID-related staff shortages. We are doing all we can to minimise the impact to your journey and provide a safe service, however cancellations or delays may occur.
  • Plan your trip before you travel for up-to-date real time information. You can also subscribe to planned trackwork alerts.
