Train-Bus Collision In Slovakia Kills Five, Injures Several

A tragic collision between a train and a bus in Slovakia has resulted in the loss of five lives and left at least five individuals injured, as confirmed by the country's emergency services. The incident occurred in Nové Zámky, located in southern Slovakia, with the emergency response efforts still ongoing at the crash site. At present, five ambulance vehicles and three ambulance helicopters have been deployed to the scene to provide assistance.

Reports indicate that the train involved in the collision was en route from Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The train was carrying over 100 passengers at the time of the accident. Following the collision, the Slovak railway company ZSSK has arranged for more than 100 passengers to be transported by buses to Sturovo, a town situated near the Hungarian border.

Expressing her condolences, Slovak Health Minister Zuzana Dolinková conveyed her deep sadness over the tragic incident and highlighted the presence of various emergency services at the crash site. She extended her sympathies to the families of the victims affected by the collision.

Slovakia's President Peter Pellegrini, who was attending a summit in Brussels with European Union leaders, also offered his condolences via social media. He expressed sorrow for the victims of the collision, extended his sympathies to their families, and wished a swift recovery to those injured. Pellegrini commended the efforts of medical professionals and rescue teams involved in responding to the incident, emphasizing the importance of preventing such catastrophes in the future.
