Trailer gives fans taste of new thriller set in Glasgow starring Martin Compston

A TRAILER for a new streaming series set in Glasgow starring Scottish actor Martin Compston was released on Monday.

Prime Video released the official trailer along with art and images for Fear, an upcoming three-part psychological thriller series about a family pushed to their absolute limits.

Compston (who starred in The Rig, and played DI Steve Arnott in Line Of Duty) leads the cast, alongside Anjli Mohindra (Vigil, The Lazarus Project), Solly McLeod (Tom Jones, The Dead Don’t Hurt), James Cosmo (Jack Ryan, Game Of Thrones), Maureen Beattie (Dead-water Fell, Our House), Daniel Portman (Black Mirror, Game Of Thrones), Anneika Rose (Crossfire, Line Of Duty) and Bhav Joshi (Breathtaking, The Diplomat).

Excited to make a fresh start away from London, Martyn (Compston) and wife Rebecca (Mohindra) move to Glasgow with their two young children.

At first the new home seems idyllic, but when their neighbour Jan (McLeod) makes unnerving comments to Rebecca, it turns out to be the start of something far more intimidating.

Facing accusations that are every parent’s worst nightmare, and with the authorities refusing to step in, Martyn and Rebecca feel they have nowhere to turn to for help.

The trailer shows Martyn and Rebecca move into their new home before being given a note from their neighbour that says: “I like watching you”.

The production of Fear has been supported by Screen Scotland through its Broadcast Content Fund, and was filmed entirely in Glasgow.

The series will premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival on Thursday, February 27, and will include a screening and panel with select cast and crew.

Fear is a joint venture from Wild Mercury and Capricorn Productions, written by Mick Ford (After The Flood, The Stranger) based on the book by Dirk Kurbjuweit and directed by Justin Chadwick (Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, Shardlake).

Its executive producers are Derek Wax and Frances Flannery for Wild Mercury, Suzanne Reid for Capricorn Productions, Mick Ford and Justin Chadwick, and the producer is Matt Brown. Banijay Rights are handling international distribution.

All episodes of the new series will be available to watch on Prime Video on Tuesday, March 4.

Prime members will be able to watch all three episodes of Fear on the Prime Video app for smart TVs, mobile devices, Fire TV, Fire TV stick, Fire tablets, games consoles, on Virgin’s V6 TV Box, the Talk Talk TV set top box, Apple TV, Chromecast, BT TV or online.
