A massive trailer full of counterfeit cigarettes was seized in a major Dublin raid.
A whopping €10million worth of the items were found in a trailer in a yard in west Dublin on Tuesday evening. It is estimated that the products represent a loss of €7.5million to the Exchequer.
Gardai carried out the search under a warrant as part of Operation Tara. The investigation was conducted by members of the Detective Units Clondalkin/Rathcoole and the Clondalkin Tasking Unit with assistance provided by Revenue Customs Officers.
A garda spokesman said: "The counterfeit cigarettes were taken for analysis by Revenue Customs. No persons were arrested during this operation and investigations are ongoing."
