Tragic victim of Lanarkshire road crash is named as police renew appeal for witnesses

A Lanarkshire woman who was killed after being struck by a car on a local road has been named.

Angela Marshall, aged 55, was from the Rutherglen area and was struck by a vehicle around 6.35pm on Croftfoot Road last Thursday.

Emergency services attended and Angela was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have continued to appeal for anyone with any further information to come forward.

Sergeant Adnan Alam from Motherwell Road Policing said: "Our thoughts are with Angela’s family and friends at this difficult time.

"Enquiries into the circumstance surrounding the crash continue. Anyone who can assist and has not been in touch with us, particularly if they have dash-cam footage, is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 2816 of January 13 2022.”

Earlier this week Lanarkshire Live told how nearly 1,000 locals have signed a petition demanding road calming measures be introduced on the road.

The road is on the boundary between Glasgow City Council and South Lanarkshire Council.
